Abstract

At present, learning through the web, which is a part of learning through electronic media, is increasing in it's popularity. Electronic media enables learners tograsp knowledge without the limits of time and place. This article presents the development of education system in anthropological museum through 4 dimensional online via Thai Studies Anthropological Collection. This room contains historical evidences as well as cultural objects from the E-San region which were simulated as a 4 dimensional graphic by using X3D language. This fourth dimension is the time dimension, which helps showcase the architectural and historic changes in each historical period. This system is needless to use any plug-in to display 3D scene on browsers. The results of evaluation from electronic media experts showed that the overall quality of the system built was in an excellent level.

Abstract

Virtual reality commerce (VR-commerce) is a potential candidate for a wide adoption of the next wave of the e-commerce platform, since its advantages and novel shopping experience derived from the VR interface. Currently, platform dependence and downloading and installing a huge virtual world before cruising into the VR-store are examples among many cumbersome shoppers facing in using such platform. WebGL is a front runner for implementing this kind of innovative shopping experience, which just enters its matured phase. This study is the first implementation of a full-scale virtual reality store by X3D. It focused on the technical feasibility aspects of implementing a virtual reality book store by the X3D and WebGL standard.
